Near as I can tell, you turn the key to the "1" position, hit the "r" button on the instrument cluster 3 times...this gives you some strange reading like "ub voltage" and then you use the arrows to scroll up to the service menu, then confirm services completed. Hope that's right, I think so.....
It's easy, just go to MB store!!
clear maint code from 2001 slk 320
You would have to have service B performed by a authorized Mercedes Benz technician. There is a special laptop they hook up to the cars after these services are performed in order to get rid of that message on your dash. On the CLK 320 Cabrolet you have to perform a series of actions on your dash i.e. reset button etc. to reset the service reminder. There is no plug in for a Mercedes techniciam to reset the reminder.
Turn the key to position 2. Scroll to service "b" using the up or down arrow button on the steering wheel. Then press and hold the odometer reset button on the lefthand side of the instrument cluster. The screen will then change and say press button for 3 seconds to reset. At that time release and then press and hold the button for 3 seconds. It will then reset to 10,000 miles.
I did the oil change on my 2000 ml 320 but the dash still displaying -10 D and i have tried to do the reset following the procedurs but the two little wrenches are there and
Key on position 1. press OK and Accept-Call switch ( on steeringwheel) simultaneous, wait till new screen appears. Then select the right maintenance menu; very easy.
A helpful fellow from BenzWorld gave this answer for your year and model: •Turn key to position 2, engine off. •Scroll the information menu using the left side steering wheel buttons to the "Service A/B exceeded by xxx miles" indicator, NOT to the odometer display •Press and hold the (R) trip odometer reset button at the left of the dash for about 4 seconds until a "Do you want to reset service interval" display appears •Release the button •Press and hold the (R) button again until the Service indicator display indicates its been reset. The display changed to "A service due in 10,000 miles." Most descriptions I've seen say to start at the odometer display. At least on my 2000, you must start at the service indicator display. Makes sense, actually. Good luck with this as I have seen these processes fail time and time again. The best way to get this done, in my humble opinion, is to drive into the service bay of your friendly neighborhood Benz dealer and ask them to do it for you.
That is a REALLY good question. And it gets asked a lot. One of the most popular questions on the net. There are lots of different ways to do this. Unfortunately only one of the ways works for your year-model-engine as far as I can determine. I recommend that you never have your car serviced by someone who can't reset the service light. If they can't do that do you really want them changing your oil? Second, I have had this problem when my guy 'forgot' to reset the light. What did I do? I waited a while and then went to the dealer to ask them to reset the light. They will do it for you. Just look down at your feet and make circles with one foot.
