The fuel gets from the diesel tank to the combustion chamber through fuel injection. This process may vary on your particular vehicle depending on the particular modelÊof your Land Rover Discovery.
There is no fuel getting to the combustion chamber. Things to check: clogged fuel filter; crimped fuel line; carburetor settings; obstruction in fuel tank.
The main function of the fuel pump is to pump the fuel from the tank to the combustion chamber at the correct amount and correct time...:P
The flow of gasoline in a gasoline-powered engine involves several key components: the fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel injectors or carburetor, and the combustion chamber. Gasoline is drawn from the tank by the fuel pump, filtered for impurities, and then delivered to the engine where it's mixed with air and ignited in the combustion chamber to produce power. Proper flow is crucial for optimal engine performance, efficiency, and emissions control. Any disruptions in this flow can lead to reduced engine efficiency or failure.
a 2 stroke engine is lubricated by the fuel. the fuel is either premixed with oil and poured into the gas tank or it has a separate oil tank to inject the oil into the gas. once past the carburetor the fuel mist flows around the inside of the engine before entering the combustion chamber.
Fuel tank: Stores the fuel before it is delivered to the engine. Fuel pump: Transfers the fuel from the tank to the engine. Fuel filter: Removes contaminants and impurities from the fuel before reaching the engine. Fuel injectors: Dispense the fuel into the combustion chamber for combustion. Fuel pressure regulator: Controls the pressure of the fuel flowing through the system to ensure proper engine performance.
Only liquid fuelled rockets (and then only some) rely on oxygen as the oxidizer. It is carried in liquid form in a tank (or tanks). It is them pumped and mixed with the fuel in the combustion chamber where the combustion reaction takes place. The combusion products then exit the rocket nozzle. In solid fuel rockets, the oxidizer (whatever that may be) is usually mixed with the fuel.
Obvious Answer to deliver Fuel. But a more detailed answer A fuel system consists of a Fuel Tank, Fuel Filter, Fuel Injectors, Fuel Rails, Fuel Pressure Gauge, Fuel cap and a Fuel Pump.Fuel Tank - Holds the fuelFuel Filter - Filters fuel of impuritiesFuel injectors - Inject fuel into combustion chamber at a specific timeFuel Rails - Path for fuel to travelFuel Pressure Gauge - Determines how much pressure the fuel system has or is building upFuel cap - Keeps Fuel from vaporizingFuel Pump - Pumps fuel from the tank to the injectors

There is a restriction in the fuel system that is not allowing fuel to get to the combustion chamber. Possible restrictions could be: clogged fuel filter, carburetor needle valve closed; fuel float needle valve stuck closed; debris in carburetor; empty fuel tank; trash in fuel tank.
It sounds like there may be some carbon in the combustion chambers causing pre-ignition and run on after shutdown. Purchase a container of engine combustion chamber cleaner with Techron in it. Follow the directions. You add it to your fuel tank. It cleans the fuel system and combustion chambers of deposits. By reducing deposits you reduce the chance of engine run on after ignition shutdown. Also you can try a tank of premium fuel. If the engine stops properly that's another indication of deposits. ANSWER--- Check the timing
However, vegetable oil has a very high viscosity. It's so thick that the engine has a hard time atomizing the fuel completely when it is sprayed into the combustion chamber. The result is unburned fuel that clogs the engine.
shortly: fuel pump, 2 of them... in the tank, 1 per each chamber
