The cost to recode the immobilizer on a Renault Megane Scenic can vary depending on the service provider and location, typically ranging from $100 to $300. This price may include labor and any necessary equipment or software used for the recoding process. It's advisable to check with local dealerships or automotive locksmiths for precise quotes. Additionally, the complexity of the vehicle's immobilizer system may influence the final cost.
I paid £360, although I got a few quotes around £500.
About £35 if you buy an after market part. A lot more from a Renault dealer.
A new lock on hatch door of 2003 Renault megane scenic cost a whopping £126 - supplied and fitted by a local garage in Greenock (colour matched too - dark blue). Try the scrap yards before buying brand new. Looks like this is a common problem amongst megane scenics as we now play a game - spot the missing button and you'd be amazed how often we see megane scenics with a missing lock button.
One of my customers just paid £800 for the headgasket on his scenic..... inc cambelt, oil, filter, head skim, gaskets etc etc ... and it was not done properly! I have just charged him £400 for the same job done correctly this time. Hope that helps :)
Hi. I know this does not help but... I am having the same problem. Have you managed to diagnose it yet??. Any information much appreciated. Thanks.
The short answer is - you don't!! wouldn't be much of an immobilizer if it were easy to bypass. You need to either fix the fault which is causing the problem, OR send the engine ECU off to a specialist who can reprogram it to disable the immobilizer
