I just spoke with a technical support rep from Harbor Freight. He said that if is calls for SAE 30W that SAE 30 should be fine.
Sae 30w
If the recommended oil is SAE30 why would you use SAE 10W30? Some mowers recommend either of these weights but if your recommends 30W then using 10W30 will cause it to use oil.
Sae 30w if it is over 50 Fahrenheit. 10w-30 if it is under.
Sae is society of auto engineers. The numbers are the viscosity (thickness) rating. 5 when cold. 30 when hot. The lower the number, the thicker. If you are in a warm clime, it will always be 30 weight. Since it has more than 1 no, it is multi-viscosity.
Only SAE 30 is equivalent to SAE-30
30w is the manufacturers recommended.- - - - -The best oil I know of for these engines is Shell Rotella T--SAE 30 in the summer, SAE 15W40 for all-season use. Rotella is heavy-duty diesel oil and it only comes in those two weights.
30 weight non-detergent oil is what was used in the 20s. But you can and should use SAE 30 High Detergent oil today as it will provide many benefits. If you have been using non-detergent oil then there is more than likely a sludge buildup in the engine at this time. You should not switch to High Detergent oil unless the engine has been rebuilt and totally cleaned. The reason is that the HD oil will loosen all this sludge and contaminate your crankcase. So, if you know the engine is clean then use SAE 30W otherwise use 30W non-detergent oil.
It they are the same weight oil as in SAE 30 weight oil there is no difference and they are identical. 30 weight oil is 30 weight oil synthetic or conventional.
Motor oil. DO NOT USE VEGETABLE OIL!! (personal experience)
Yes you can.
SAE stands for Society of Automotive Engineers. It appears that you're referring to an oil weight rating - in this case, 30 weight, although it'll usually be followed by the viscosity rating (e.g., 15W-40, 10W-30, 85W-140, etc. 30W tends to be recommended for small engines, such as lawnmowers.
10w-30 if it's above 32 degrees, sae 30w is acceptable above 50 degrees. k series and magnum engines should use only sae 30 above freezing or 5w-30 below freezing
