To reset the immobilizer on a Peugeot 406 diesel, you typically need to use the vehicle's key. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine, then leave it for about 10 minutes. After that, turn the key off and try starting the engine. If the immobilizer still doesn’t reset, you may need to consult a professional or use diagnostic tools to reprogram the key or immobilizer system.
Bypassing the immobilizer on a vehicle can be complex and varies by model. For a 1998 Peugeot 106 diesel, if the immobilizer wires are damaged, you may be able to temporarily bypass it by connecting the wires directly, but this can lead to further complications or damage. It’s advisable to consult a professional mechanic or locksmith who specializes in automotive electronics to ensure a proper and safe solution. Additionally, consider replacing the ignition barrel and immobilizer for a long-term fix.
Normally located to the right of the steering wheel. It is a numeric keypad.
