normal thread anti clockwise to loosen. i kept breaking my tools trying to loosen mine with long poles ect tried the starter trick still wouldnt budge. hired out a bosch gd30 inch drive 110v impact wrench from hss hire before i could focus on what i was doing it had it out in seconds as if it was hand tight.
