My land rover discovery ll would not start we put a new battery in it and now it starts but it dies after about 5 minutes and won't start again What are some possible causes Please help?

If the vehicle is a diesel it may have a blockage in the intercooler pipes, try removing the pipe from the plenum chamber and see if the vehicle runs (it will have less power) and see if air is blowing in large volumes through the intercooler pipe.
