As long as the headlight are turned off, you do not have to disconnect the battery.
Disconnect the battery, which you should do anyway when replacing an ignition. There will then be no danger of it inflating.
Under the Hood, drivers side near the windshield is a junction area for the battery cables that come from under the drivers side wheel well. Disconnect the BLACK Cable near/at the shock mount
Disconnect + cable on your battery , go inside vehicle , sit in drivers seat , apply pressure to brake pedal for 5 seconds as if you were making a stop . Reconnect Battery , should be clear .

Possible fix, remove NEGITIVE battery cable,..connect a common test light[aligater clamp end to cable... point end to battery post] to bridge a circuit at the NEGITIVE post-to-cable...with all doors, trunk lid, and glove box shut, key out of ignition...disconnect under hood light... if light is off there is NO battery drain, open drivers door, the testlight should come on.....this tests for battery draw...
Is it the location of the battery,If it is, its under the drivers seat. The drivers seat tilts to reveal the battery.
disconnect the battery for 45mins, with the doors closed. After 45mins reconnect the battery and open the drivers door and you should hear a beep. your ecu will be reset. then take it out for a drive trying to keep to around 2000-2500rpm for the ecu to calibrate to the parameters.
In the battery compartment, behind the drivers seat.
