If the engine cranks but will not start it could be a spark related or fuel related issue you need to check if you have proper spark from your ignition system. pull off a spak plug wire and crank the engine see if it is sparking if it is then the spark should be jump a large gap and be a bright blue in color not orange if it is a orange spark it is not hot enough to ignite the fuel . if spark is ok next check fuel pressure there should be a shrader valve on your fuel line going to to the fuel rail or on the fuel rail there will be a plastic cap on it remove the plastic cap and push down the shrader valve with a pen if no fuel comes out you probibly have a fuel issue weather it is a pump or relay will need further diagnosis . hope this information helps ASB
could be the starter or the solenoid, they arer pron to heating up especially when using headers, peace
Youhave a short in the system. Could be the starter or a bare wire.
Sounds like you might have a bad starter relay.
Have you checked the air filter? Fresh Gas? Battery amps?Does the starter spin and not engage? If so it is your starter solenoid.
Check your flywheel ring gear. I had a similar problem with my mower and found excessive wear on both the starter drive and ring gear. Be sure to check all the way around the ring gear, mine was only worn in one small area.
Weak battery? Loose or corroded battery cables? Bad ignition switch? Bad neutral or clutch safety switch? Bad starter? Bad starter solenoid?
In a sense, motors do have cranks installed. It is the starter that acts as a crank to turn the engine in order to create a spark and start it. Any device, whether manual or electrical, used to rotate the motor in order for it to start, is called a crank.
dude trust on this. its your starter motor, it happened to me once. it will just cranks and it feels like the battery is dying out but nope its your solenoid on your starter motor that is worn out. best of luck dude
Most likely the starter is "dragging" due to worn bushings. When the bushings wear, the starter will "drag" against the interior of the housing and barely spin, causing the battery to drain.
Starter won't crank over engine? Battery or battery connection issues. Starter cranks over engine but engine won't start? Being a GM product I would suspect fuel delivery problems (bad fuel pump).
To determine if the starter is bad on a Ford Aspire, listen for a clicking sound when you turn the ignition; this often indicates the starter isn't engaging. Additionally, if the engine doesn't crank at all and the battery is fully charged, the starter may be faulty. You can also test the starter by bypassing it with a direct connection from the battery to the starter terminal. If the starter engages and cranks the engine, the issue may lie elsewhere in the ignition system.
Yes. The alternator is used to keep the battery charged, while using the headlights, radio, a/c, etc. The starter to me is misstated because it actually cranks the engine. The ignition system starts it, and keeps it running.
