The results of a bad air mass sensor are hesitation, poor running during warm up and even stalling at times. Usually this problem will caUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE
PS.
When the CEL (Check Engine Light) illuminated, it would show some OBD codes, such as: P0170 and P0173 from OBD scanner, indicate that the car is having fuel trim (air/fuel mixture) problems.
Corrective Actions:
Step 1. Clean with CRC Mass Fir Flow (MAF) spray cleaner first, don't touch the delicate sensor parts.
If this does not work, then proceed to step 2 as the following.
Step 2. Replace with a new or used MAF sensor from a reputable vendor, preferably an OEM product, such as BOSCH or equivalent.

The most likely cause is a faulty engine crankshaft position sensor.

Turbine input speed sensor
The Crankshaft Position Sensor is located on the drivers side between the motor and the firewall. If it is faulty you may notice your car will not start, will turn off unexpectedly or will perform intermittently.
