If the injector valves are old, the springs regulating fuel flow will not hold up to the pressure of the fuel pump and because the system is known as Continuous Injection, meaning, it continually sprays fuel into the intake manifold, it is likely prone to flooding. Have the injectors bench tested if it is not gushing out fuel. It should spray a fine mist only and not a faucet-like flow. Replace if they are bad. If the injectors are okay, check the Idle Air Actuator Valve operation. If it is malfunctioning, the engine will always run rich and flood. -rogue1man@Yahoo.com

A 1992 Mercedes-Benz 190E that cranks but won't start may have several potential issues. Common causes include a faulty fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, or issues with the fuel injectors, preventing fuel from reaching the engine. Additionally, problems with the ignition system, such as a bad spark plug or ignition coil, can also lead to starting difficulties. Checking these components systematically can help diagnose and resolve the issue.
