Stiffness can be from the cable being corroded or jammed full of mud. If the cable is not at fault then lubricate the clutch peddle axle.
It is tricky to change the clutch cable. There is a clip that holds it on the clutch pedal and it hooks over the clutch arm down by the bellhousing on the other end. The clutch arm is fairly easy to access and remove the cable from the engine compartment. The clutch pedal end took a little while. I had to undo the fuse box and let it hang to acces the pedal arm. The cable hooks on this end also, but has a little clip that holds it on the arm. Once the cable is unfastened from the arm, you can pull it out through the firewall. Installation went better than removal for me, a little adjusting after its in and youre all set! Good luck!
Step one is to remove the large wing nut on the clutch actuating arm on the transaxle, located ahead of the engine, oin the drivers side, on top of the transaxle. Next, you have to remove the accelerator cable from either the pedal assembly, or detatch it from your carb linkage. Lastly, you need to remove the two bolts holding the pedal assembly on, one in front of the accelerator pedal, and one behind it. The pedal assembly should pull right out of it's mounting hole and you will have access to the clutch pedal hook and the clutch cable. Remove the clutch cable, inspect the clutch pedal hook to make sure it isn't getting too worn out ( I have had one of these hooks break off on me from years of driving and a Kennedy pressure plate ), then thread the new clutch cable into it's guide tube, hook the end onto the back side of the clutch pedal, re-install the pedal assembly, then the large wing nut and accelerator cable. To connect the clutch cable to the pedal, first, ensure the clutch pedal is in the up position. Locate the clutch cable's end and thread it through the pedal's attachment point, usually a slot or hole designed for this purpose. Secure the cable by attaching any necessary retaining clips or adjusting it to the correct tension as specified by the vehicle's manual. Finally, test the pedal to ensure smooth operation and proper engagement of the clutch.
where does the clutch cable go from the pedal?? my clutch snapped earlier
It depends the owner's size feet!!!
You can tell by how much higher the clutch pedal is to the brake pedal. when new pedals are at the same height.
its a non adjustable cable clutch but u can make a small adjustment at the pedal
The clutch cable has proabably broken.
To install a clutch cable on a 1990 Isuzu pickup, first, disconnect the negative battery cable for safety. Then, remove the old clutch cable by detaching it from the clutch pedal and the transmission. Install the new cable by threading it through the firewall and connecting it to the pedal and transmission, ensuring proper tension. Finally, adjust the cable if necessary and reconnect the battery.
To replace a clutch cable fork on an Escort 1.85 diesel, first lift the clutch pedal to release the adjuster mechanism. Pull the cable through and hook the clutch cable fork.
To replace the clutch cable on a 1991 Geo Metro, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety. Then, remove the clutch pedal cover and detach the old cable from the pedal and the transmission lever. Install the new cable by threading it through the firewall and securing it to the pedal and transmission, ensuring it has the correct tension. Finally, reattach the battery terminal and test the clutch operation before driving.
