there is no ignition wire for the stereo, so what you need to do (what i did) is take the ignition wire from the cigarette lighter, as it only works when the ignition is on. i extended my stereo live ignition cable (u can use any wire) and fed it through to the cigarette lighter cable, made a little cut in the plastic casing of the wire, attached my wire to it, covered it with electrical tape, and voila, the stereo now works as normal!! hope this helps, if its not clear, let me know. rikxx

Replace the CIG ATM 15amp fuse (fuse color Blue) that is in the fuse box under the driver side dash under CIG, you need to get your back on the floor by the gas pedals and look up under the steering wheel dash and you will see a cover with diagrams of fuses and what they are for, you needs to take that cover off to access the fuse, this fuse controls your cigarette lighter, clock and stereo.

There are 2 bolts that are located right below the stereo in the dash. You can remove these bolts then you can pull out just that center section of the dash to get at the cigarette lighter and accessory plugs. Or at least that is how it is on my 2000 Ranger.
