I ported my Porsche 928s4 1987, I got a special double cut porting tool from a company in Britain which was specifically made for use on alloy material. You should find it on ebay easily enough. I would make sure you get more than one cutting tool to remove minor portions of material and larger when needed. When you do port the alloy intake manifold, take your time. Something I am currently considering is to have a Teflon coating inside, this will increase the flow of the air through the manifold. One thing to take on board, is that if you increase the flow too much in one port as opposed to others you may upset the smooth engine characteristics you have. If you haven't done porting before, ensure you don't try and change the port design, rather smooth out the ports. Porsche went to a lot of trouble designing it and they have much more money and knowledge in this area than you or I. But in saying that, it is rather poorly cast the manifold so there is room to increase the air flow within the Manifold. Would have been much better done in a Engineering plastic as you can achieve very high standards of smooth castings. Any way hope this helps you make a good decision. If you really want a top job done, take it to an engineering shop which has a CNC milling machine which can remove exact quantities of material and who have a specific programme for the Porsche 928 s4 Heads. Take a big wallet though. ---- Cheers, John from Kapunda - Australia

Generally porting a legacy interface refers to making something compatible with a new architecture without changing the way it's used.

In software engineering, the term porting is when one changes the format of a program. The reason that this is done is for a software or hardware program to work with something other than what it was originally was created for.

Yes, you CAN keep a Verizon number if you switch to AT&T! You must speak to the porting department of both companies. AT&T's porting and activation center number is 888-898-7685.
This blog has tons of great information: http://portandpolish.blogspot.com/
Porting is the process of modifiying the operating system code to make it run on new CPUs and system architectures. For example, if the operating system was originally written to run on x86 CPUs and was later modified to run on ARM processors.
LOL, the same thing that poring and polishing your muffler bearings will do.
* Use KnR filter. * Go for porting.
