The mode button on the Land Rover Discovery II is used to select different driving modes for various terrain conditions. It allows the driver to optimize the vehicle's performance by adjusting settings for features like traction control and air suspension. This is particularly useful for off-road driving, as it enhances stability and control on challenging surfaces.

To set the clock on a 2000 Land Rover Discovery, turn on the ignition without starting the engine. Press and hold the "Clock" button until the hours begin to flash, then use the "Seek" buttons to adjust the hour. Press the "Clock" button again to set the minutes, and adjust them similarly using the "Seek" buttons. Once the correct time is set, press the "Clock" button one final time to confirm and exit the setting mode.
Press and hold down the "mode" button until the radio beeps, then enter the code. I can't remember if you have to press "mode" again after entering the code or not, but i don't think so. If you don't know the code to your radio you will have to go into a L.R. dealership and they can tell it to you.

Because the land over is in "crash mode" a lock down anti theft service, this must be reset using a land over computer at any land rover authorized service center.
