MR. Vdub writes....... To all in question about your radio unlock code, stay in question! There are a few codes that maybe universal however none of them have ever worked for anyone i know. The best thing to do is to look on the back of your head unit and retrieve the unlock code it's there! it's only 4 digits and there are only (2) 4-digit numbers on the back of the unit! It's one of them. Mr. Vdub says keep us alive and keep it rollin!!!
Try this code--#0623--non universal code but I just got this code 3 mos ago for my 96. Try looking on the top of the radio or in the trunk in the spare tire well!
the radio code is on the back of the radio. take the radio out and you can see it.
Trouble code P1582 means: Idle Adaptation at Limit
The Code is on the Radio, or in the Spare tirewell! if it is not on the radio, remove the radio, call dealer and give them the radio serial number and your VIN number. Some Dealers like to charge for this, most do not.
Each stock radio has it's own unique code. Take your VIN# to the dealer and they can get it for you. I've had it done twice for free.
I have absolutely no idea.
Trouble code P1780 means: Engine Intervention Readable
Speed regulation: adaptation limit reached
A Volkswagen Passat radio code can be found at any authorized VW dealership or service manual. If the code is incorrect the radio will not turn on.
Your local dealer has to pull the radio and hook it to a computer to find the code. It cannot be done with the radio in the vehicle.

Take your car to the vw dealership and they will give will put the code into your radio, however they will most likely charge you $100 dollars for getting the code for you and putting it in the radio. I see about 3-4 cars a day come in for radio codes so once you get that code keep it in a safe place you might need it again. On my 1996 VW Jetta you must hold down the right seek or scan button until the display blanks out. Then you can enter the unlock code.
remove the radio, and get the serial number. then go to the nearest dealership and they will give you the code to unlock the radio. i would also recomend writing it down and keeping it in the car, as i am sure you will experience this problem again
