A 2002 BMW 530i typically holds about 6.5 quarts of oil when including the oil filter change. It's always best to check the owner's manual or consult a mechanic for the most accurate information specific to your vehicle.
It is usually located in the main engine bay close to the oil filler.
The BMW 530i typically uses a high-quality synthetic gear oil that meets the specifications outlined in the owner's manual. For the rear differential, a common recommendation is a 75W-90 weight gear oil, while the manual transmission may require a specific BMW-approved fluid like MTF-LT-2 or similar. Always check the owner's manual or consult a BMW dealership for the precise specifications for your model year.
For a 2006 BMW 530i, it's generally recommended to change the oil every 7,500 to 10,000 miles, or approximately once a year, depending on driving conditions and oil type used. If the vehicle is frequently driven in harsh conditions, such as stop-and-go traffic or extreme temperatures, more frequent oil changes may be necessary. Always consult the owner's manual for specific recommendations tailored to your driving habits. Regular oil changes help maintain engine performance and longevity.

Use exactly what BMW lists in the owners manual and nothing else. I think you will find it is SAE 5w-40 Synthetic. As far as I know only Mobil 1 meets BMW specs. So I would for sure use Mobil 1.
