Please can you tell me where are the timing marks for vauxhall 1.9 diesel
They dont have them. There are special tools to lock all timed pulleys ie crank/camin place, as it is a floating crank. You can of course make your own marks, but it is not advised, the tools can be bought quite cheaply online.
To time a Mitsubishi Canter diesel engine, first ensure the engine is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke for cylinder one. Align the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley and the timing cover. Next, check the alignment of the camshaft timing marks with the cylinder head. Finally, if applicable, adjust the fuel injection pump timing according to manufacturer specifications, using a timing light or appropriate tools as necessary.
no you need timing tools put a timing pin in the block to lock the crankshaft and use the timing tool to lock the cams
You need special tools to lock cams and crank
This is not advisable if you are not an experienced mechanic as it has to be timed with the need for specialist tools if the timing goes out.
there are no timing marks for reference. you have to use special tools. I have OTC #6474 you cannot replace the timing belt without at least this one tool. you will also need a cam pulley holding device to retighten the cam bolts. Currently I am doing the job with the proper tools and still having no luck getting the motor to run properly. good luck people
Probably your timing belt is a tooth off either retarded or advanced. Any more than a tooth, and it won't run at all and possible bent valves. Recheck timing marks and or timing holes that line up with special tools or etc.
You can replace the front bearing on 2003 Citroen Relay using air tools.
The LS2 uses the Ecotech V6 engine, and as such does not have a timing chain; instead, it uses a timing belt. The camshafts (4) and crankshaft are held in position by a special set of tools designed just for that job. Do not attempt to replace the timing belt without the set of specialized clamps.
To set the timing on a Mercury 50 HP engine, first, ensure the engine is in a safe, stable position and that you have the necessary tools, including a timing light. Disconnect the spark plug wires and connect the timing light to the number one cylinder. Start the engine and aim the timing light at the flywheel to observe the timing marks. Adjust the timing by rotating the stator or adjusting the timing advance mechanism until the marks align as specified in the engine’s service manual. Always refer to the manufacturer’s specifications for precise timing settings.
The part required is called a Timing Variator and is located behind the timing belt cover, it is designed to vary the valve timing under different acceleration flap openings. There are specialist tools required to complete the job, and is best to rectify asap.
I would recommend the Diesel 366 piece set, which is by Craftsman, and has all the tools that are required for Diesel repair.
