To remove the alternator from a Peugeot 206, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shocks. Then, remove the drive belt by loosening the tensioner, followed by detaching the electrical connectors and mounting bolts securing the alternator in place. Carefully lift the alternator out of its bracket, ensuring that you maneuver it without damaging surrounding components. Finally, reverse the process to install the new alternator.
( 95 amps ) under 8500 GVW , without air conditioning ( 110 amps ) according to motorcraft . com
At the front of the engine compartment, there'll be a diagram displaying how the serpentine belt is routed. There'll be a diagram showing how it is done without AC, and how it is done with AC. Just route it the way it shows you to do it without AC, and you'll bypass the compressor.
If you have a short belt that bypasses the compressor you can drive without air conditioning. If your belt is completely off, you can drive without ac, power steering, water pump and alternator for about a quarter mile before your engine overheats.

it's an oil level gauge. leave the key turned onto alternator for a few secs without starting it and it'll light up and go up!
Serpentine Belt Under the hood should be a diagram of the belt, this is your best reference without the service manual. All you have to determine is which direction to rotate the belt tensioner, and then put the belt back on as shown in the diagram. If it is not you can run down to your nearest auto parts store and they can print it out for you or just buy the chilton manual on your car. It only cost a few bucks and it well helps you out later down the line if something else brakes

If a new battery goes flat the most common fault would be a fualty alternator or regulator on the alternator. The alternator is belt driven by your engine and generates electricity to re-charge your battery. A brand new battery may last a few days but without re-charge from the alternator it will eventually go flat.
