To replace the speed sensor on a 1999 VW Cabrio, first, ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the ignition is off. Locate the speed sensor, which is typically found on the transmission. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the mounting bolt to take out the old sensor. Install the new sensor by reversing these steps, making sure to secure it properly and reconnect the electrical connector.
