Recharging the air conditioning is simple with a recharge kit. Connects the Freon bottle to the recharge port on the air conditioner compressor. Release the Freon into the compressor.
To recharge the air conditioning on a 1991 Jeep Cherokee, first locate the low-pressure service port, typically found on the larger diameter A/C line. Attach a refrigerant can with a gauge to this port, ensuring the can is held upright. Start the engine and turn the A/C to maximum; then, slowly release the refrigerant into the system while monitoring the gauge. Be cautious not to overcharge, and check for any leaks or issues after recharging.
Larger hose from the air compressor
Jetta - electronics company - was created in 1991.
Originally this car had R12 refrigerant. It may have since been updated to accept R134a. The coolant/radiator system is not part of the air conditioning system. But the hot antifreeze-coolant is used for the heating system...
It depends on what state you live in. Some states require only professional technicians to do repairs on the air conditioning systems. One main reason being, if you by chance were to hook up the can of refrigerant to the high side, you could be putting 200-300 pounds of pressure into a can designed to hold 75-100 pounds. That could be very disasterous. The low side has a suction that pulls the refrigerant out of the can.
To recharge the air conditioning system on a 1991 AC 740 wagon, first locate the low-pressure service port, usually found on the larger diameter aluminum line. Attach a refrigerant can with a hose and gauge to the port, following the manufacturer's instructions for the type of refrigerant used (typically R-12 or R-134a). Start the engine and turn the AC to the maximum setting, then slowly open the valve on the refrigerant can to allow it to flow into the system. Monitor the pressure gauge and avoid overfilling; once the system is adequately charged, disconnect the hose and replace the service port cap.

with a new compressor is a good place to look and see if it's working then see if the fan to blow it is still working you fix it with a new ac compressor pulley and recharge the freon in the car
Should be approx. 4.5L with an oil filter change. I recommend using Shell rotella 15w-40 oil. -1991 Diesel Jetta/1986 Diesel Golf/ 1985 Gas Jetta owner
