every engine has a fly wheel, which the starter turns. the start looks like two cans together, one is way biger than a soda can, and other is about the same as a soda can lol. if your car is RWD (rear wheel drive) then the starter will defiantly be on the back the engine, if its front wheel drive then it will be on the side, which are a lot harder to remove

Where are the timing marks on a freelander engine?

On a Freelander engine, the timing marks are typically located on the crankshaft pulley and the timing belt cover. For most models, you will find a notch or mark on the crankshaft pulley that aligns with a corresponding mark on the engine block. Additionally, there are usually marks on the camshaft sprockets or the timing belt itself, which indicate proper alignment with the engine's timing. Always refer to the specific service manual for your Freelander model for precise locations and alignment procedures.
