In the fuse box under the hood there is a black control module called LKM pull this out and resoder the relay connections.Use a screw driver to pull the circut board out plastic housing.just did this a week ago it takes a total of 20 min.very easy and your low beams will never go out again.here is a link with pictures http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/archive/index.pht/t-1010932.html.
