The blinker relay is broken. It is located inside the hazard switch. Replace the switch and it will fix your problem.
Usually a bad turn signal flasher Check to make sure all bulbs are working I had this problem. Had to replace the hazard warning light switch in the dash. 1999 Passat 1.9TDi UK spec.
The dash indicator goes out to let you know one of the external lamps are not working
Impossible to answer without more information as any number of faults could case a missfire.
sounds like an electrical fault i would take it to a mechanic
this happened to my passat last night they havent released though
blown bulb - broken wire
Add oil!
When I hit the blinker I accidently moved the switch...sorry.
It never did, look at Blink 182 & Paramore.
Sounds like a Passat 1.8. If the light is coming on, welcome to the world of 1.8l sludge. One solution= Engine flush at dealer and only use synthetic from then on. VW knows about this problem and the dealers have the repair instructions. This answer comes from experience.
it may stop or go slow
If a Passat 04 TDI's indicator lights are not working, check the fuse. A blown fuse can cause the lights to stop working.
