On my 1998 Audi A6, the 11, 16 and 17 fuse slots are empty, so I used their locations to predict the numbering pattern. As luck had it, the 15 amp fuse in the #33 slot had a different "font" than the other fuses. This told me that it had been replaced in the past. I pulled it out and sure enough, it was blown.
