Could be many things, ball joints usually make clunking noises (usually one when turning and one when turning the wheel from turning), cv joints usually make a clicking noise and vibrate under load. Have it checked out, les schwab will do it for free (check it).

Bad bearing in compressor? Bad bearing in compressor?
A clunking noise in a Whirlpool washer can be caused by a variety of issues such as a broken drive belt, worn drum bearings, or a loose drum pulley. If the washer is not spinning all the way out, it could be due to an unbalanced load, a malfunctioning motor, or a faulty control board. It is recommended to have a professional technician diagnose and repair the specific issue.

A loud noise during the spin cycle of a Frigidaire top load washing machine could be due to an unbalanced load causing the drum to bang against the sides. The problem is most likely a loose belt, this will happen when steering piston and pump is under a load as in turning. More torque is required to spin pulley.
To reduce the noise generated because of VFD harmonics, line filters have to be used on the line side and load side of the VFD. The specific filters suppress the harmonic frequencies that the VFD generates when the SCR's are rapidly turning off and on.
