you can swim for as long as you like but it needs to be 30 minutes of your regular heart pace being raised. as long as you get this much a day you will be fit and healthy! ---- The recommended exercise duration to keep fit is a minimum of 30 minutes 3 times per week. It depends on how good a swimmer you are as to how far that is, though as you gett stronger and fitter the distances you swim in certain times should increase.
