Some good exercises for a 12 year old would be about 20-45 minutes of crunches, trunk lifts, and a exercise when you lie down near a chair or a couch, and grab the foot of the couch with both hands and lift your legs up slowly keeping them straight as far as you can reach them, then try lifting up your bottom off the ground, then slowly, put your legs down but don't touch the ground and keep them about 6 inches above the ground and keep it there for about 10 seconds then lift up again, never touching the ground.
