You should not try to do much weight. If you have a good spotter you could probably do your body weight. But remember what's more important? Bengkulu 200lbs or doing your body weight 10 times?
10
It mostly depends in your weight, a really good bench for any age is your own body weight.
There are several factors. A persons body weight and age are a pretty good indicator. This is very general of course. To be a good bench presser its usually a matter of simple practice and technique. However if you can rep your own weight you are most likely above average. If you can max out at 100lbs past your weight thats also a good indicator your pretty strong. Ex: 175 body weight x 10 or 275 at one rep max.
At age eighteen the average is about 180, but that number drops with age.
im 13, im 5'9 and i can lift about 100+, so its depends on weight and everything :s
125% your weight for example if you are 195 pounds 244 pounds is a good number.
It all depends on how much you weight, how long you have lifted and many other factors. A good scale to follow by is your body weight. The average 17 year old should be benching at or above your body weight. This is what a person should be able to lift, but if you take the average 17 yr. old the can not bench their weight.. take the average doest play football or wrestle, which is the 2 primary sports where weight lifting is part of the program. They will lift weights in basketball but it is for a different purpose not for bruit strength its more for stamina. Hell the average person should be able to do this as well but most people who do not work out can not lift their weight. And Lebron James CANNOT bench 400 lbs. Shaq cant do much more then 400 lbs.
A healthy man can bench his own weight, the average being around 185 lbs. A gorilla, highland silverback, the biggest of the gorillas, is said to be between 12 and 20 times stronger than a man. Just multiply 185 by those figures and it will give a ball park figure of what a gorilla can do if taught to bench press. On the animal channel, it stated that a large male silverback gorilla has the strength to press over 4600 pounds.
it will depend on what kind of bench it is :P
Here's what my high school football coach used as the benchmark for his players: Power clean: body weight Bench: 1.5x body weight Squat: 2x body weight Dead lift: 2.5x body weight Probably less than half of the guys could actually lift that much. I would say for a regular joe, if you can bench more than your weight and squat more than 1.5x your weight, you're not doing too bad.
yes
Don't know what the answer is for the average, but I will be 63 this year and can bench 200 lbs.
