food
Eating 90 minutes before running can lead to possible cramps, but more often will cause the runner to vomit the food up, depending on the runners fitness level and the length & effort of the run.
Side 'stitches' are caused by lack of oxygen and a build up of lactic acid in the muscles. This is the primary cause of most muscle cramps after exertion. The over-use of un-'trained' muscles - trying to do something one rarely does, and then 'pushing'(or trying to do something past your ability) will almost always result in muscle cramps.
Stretching before and after any exertion will reduce the chances and effect of muscle cramps, as well as giving yourself time to 'cool-down' or slowly reduce the level of your exertion before quitting.

To try and avoid or eliminate side cramps while running one should take deep breaths from the belly and not the chest. Shallow breaths should be avoided and remaining hydrated will help.
Cramps are caused by your uterus contracting during your cycle to pass your blood and uterine linig. A good cure for really bad cramps is exercise. (walking, running, bike riding, swimming ect.) It always works for me !
Muscle cramps during running can be caused by dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, muscle fatigue, or inadequate warm-up. Proper hydration, stretching, and maintaining electrolyte balance can help prevent cramps while running.
Even 1% dehydration can cause leg cramps during exercise. The buildup of lactic acid can cause severe cramping as can a deficiency in potassium and magnesium.A lack of sodium in the diet also leads to cramps during exercise.

Running cramps can be stopped by staying hydrated through the day.Dont just drink water right when you are about to go running you body needs to already have plenty of water in it. Also eat a banana for potassium which is good for running and drink a lot of Gatorade and powerade for electrolytes.I prefer powerade because it is enriched with electrolytes and many ion"s and tons of other vitamins that is not provided in Gatorade. Hope this helps.
