Some. It depends on the girl's style, too. If the girl likes metal music, then yes. But that would be a very small percentage of girls. Most teenage girls like Lady Gaga and similar artists. I like guys that skatebourd and play guitar but not metal music. Some do. And some perfer a guy who plays guitar but is less metal and more Pete Townshend. Or more Dominic Frasca. Or more Joe Satriani. Or more Michael Hedges. Or more Christopher Parkening. Or more..., well, you get the idea.

What is important is what else there is to the guy other than the fact that he plays guitar and is into metal. What other kinds of music does he like? What other interests does he have? How does he see himself? See you? See his place in things? Does he like movies? And if so, what kind? Is he interested in school? (And that, by the way, is the full time job of a young person.) What does he like to do when he has a choice, like interests or hobbies? The bottom line is that after the "attraction" to a guitar playing guy who is into metal wears off, what else is there?

Dating is a way for two people to get to know each other a little bit better. There had better be something to know about a guy other than that he plays guitar and is into metal. Or the dating will turn into an uncomfortable waste of time -- for both parties.
