How do you get over a seven year relationship?

Time heals all wounds. This is always a rough time in any persons life - the hurt feelings will eventually subside. Important thing is to keep going forward with your life ... to stay in a depressed condition could be bad for your own personal health. Get on with life ... go do something for yourself that you have been putting off doing for many years ... have fun ... don't let yourself go into 'rebound mode' and get involved in another relationship right away ... give it a few years ... you need to cleanse your heart and soul first.

Divert your interest to something else. You have to put effort into this. It's not easy and some days you won't feel like it. Those days try to just listen to music that makes you happy. Try to project this feeling of happiness in your heart to your actions. This takes time but will work. Try going to a movie or picking up a new hobby that you've been wanting to do.

Also try to realize that things usually happen for a reason and ultimately it is usually always for the better. Unfortunately we don't tend realize that until we get to that point though. Just keep it in mind and try to focus on that factor.

Whatever you do, don't keep making contact with the person, it will only prolong the process.
