How do you know that a person is happy?

The only person who can accurately measure someone's happiness is: themselves!

There are, however, ways to communicate happiness to other people - two of the most common are -

visually: stretching the facial muscles and explosing the teeth - by smiling, in other words

vocally / verbally: using one's voice to communicate happiness or pleasure. Example: "That concert was great. I'm so happy right now."


It is worth remembering that sometimes, signals can seem conflicting. For example, a person might seem unhappy, but claim in words that they are NOT unhappy. In these instances, you need to reach your own conclusion based on relevant factors and your own knowledge of the person and / or circumstances that they're in!

You can feel it, see it, they always have that smile (even when they're not smiling) and they "glow" and are full of positive energy, you can hear it in their voice - if they're stressed or relaxed, some people can see it in other people's eyes as well! In the end, think about how do you feel and act when you're happy and you will be able to notice happiness on other people.

1. be smiling

2. feel like helping others

3. maybe start singing (even if you can't sing)

4. feel like nothing can bring you down

This isn't "happy", this is "truly happy".
