I am a girl and personally everyday Im just waiting for a guy to come up to me and just tell me he thinks im cute/ hot/beautiful. I go to the rec centre all the time hoping a guy will flirt with me. I think that whenever you see a girl that interests you (even if you dont know her) just go up to her and start a conversation with her. Compliment her, and if all goes well give her your cell # and email if you want. Then when you or her calls ask to hang out again some place then ask her out.

There are tons of girls out there. Try doing things you love like for instance Bowling with some friends. That way if you meet someone at the alley chances are they at least share one interest with you. It is important to not be scared to speak to a girl you would like to talk to. Just go for it. If anything she will more than likely feel good about herself that you were interested. In conversation talk about her. People absolutely LOVE to talk about themselves. Good places to meet girls include bookstores like Borders. Other places include gyms, volunteer groups, parks (especially if you have a dog), clubs, bars, and Swimming Pools. Of course where you choose to look for girls will most likely result in a certain type of girl, for instance you may meet someone at a bar, but she is probably not going to be a quiet-stay at home-romantic walks on the beach kind of girl and if you meet someone at Borders she may not be the party-clubbin'-bar type, so choose your search location carefully. There are also many websites where you can meet girls. If you want someone who is very compatible with you, but don't want the whole world knowing you are on a dating website try eHarmony. People can't search for you on there, only your specific matches can view the information you choose to let them view. It is a website for finding a long-term relationship, not a date or fling. Also just getting new friends (male or female) can lead to meeting their friends and eventually a new love interest. So always try to make new friends. The best way to meet girls is to not look. You will generally meet one in the place and at the time you least expect, but usually you at least need to leave the house to meet new people so do that.

(or be weirded out and run away...) - ....picking the cutest may not work for everyone; the strategy above can be as devastating as it is successful - the old adage is true - you cannot tell a book from it's cover....the cutest, handsomest, most appealing and wealthiest can also be the most devious evil personality you could ever hope to encounter - So you may want to go for mediocre to boost your confidence (who knows they may be a prince in frog's clothing). Also the above strategy only works if you AT someplace where you can meet someone - try volunteer groups (and not just the red cross, there are plenty of other ones - small theater groups usually need backstage help, discussion groups at cafe's or chains are also good for the shy for exposure. People watch at the mall - that doesn't mean stare!
