Just say it exactly the way you want to say it, there's no "one" way of saying thanks to someone for being nice.

While they say: "Happy Birthday _" to you, you can say a simple nice "Thank You
They are being sarcastic. If you didn't help them, they say "thanks for no help" to show that they noticed you didn't.
