It is just not the male that forms a bond with the female, but mothers are high on the list of still liking certain exes. This should cause you no problem as long as your mother doesn't have your ex around the home.

• Since you are your ex daughter's ex mother-in-law and if you are still speaking to her then just treat her like you would any young woman such as one of your friend's grown daughters. She is no longer a part of your family and if your son is married again it would be best that your ex daughter-in-law not be present at events or come over to visit you when you think your son and his new wife may visit. Even if your son is not remarried it is best to move on from your ex daughter-in-law. If you have become friends then it's better to meet for lunch or dinner at a restaurant. Just refer to her by her first name and as an acquaintance.
