I am trying to figure this out for myself too. I am in the school band and am currently playing the flute. My mom keeps telling me I should stay in It because I sound beautiful and its a good way to get a scholarship. I on the other hand do not like playing it hefquese I have to wake up very early to practice and waking up has always been difficult. If you like band then stay in it but since you want to quit and obviously don't like it ask your friends or family if you should stay in and if they think you sound good. But if some is trying to presure you into staying in it or quiting remember it's your choice. ************************************************************************************************ you may regret quitting. i am kind of in the same situation in 8th grade there were like 40 kids out for football. freshman year, most of them quit. now we only have 13 kids. our coach gets pissed every time someone quits, especially from our grade. he says things like, "your grade might be the grade to sink our football program!" everybody thinks i am in with the program but i hate it. i can deal with all the practices and weightlifting but i just don't like it. my parents wont let me quit either. i am in hockey, baseball, marching band, jazz band, and piano. they think i am quitting because i cant handle the work. my schedule if jam packed all the time. i hardly had time to type this. my mom wont let me quit because she says i don't have a good work ethic. even though i work out every day and go to a very hard hockey camp every other day. so if you figure out how to quit, let me know. everything they say about just telling your parents and them understanding is bull. that has never worked for me. you can try, but the result will probably be the same. it might help if you quit with someone else that wants to quit.
