it would be very hard to know if he actually has a crush on you, younger guys are mean to girls because they are afraid that the girl who he likes will find out that he likes her, so he covers it up by being mean. if he is also mean to your friends then what lowers the chance he likes you. but this is somthing you will have to find out yourself because its hard to know unless you actually see the way he treats you compared to other girls.
