Monogamous refers to a system where one person marries one other person (usually of the opposite gender) in a committed relationship. Some definitions of monogamy require that it be a lifelong commitment.
Polygamous usually refers to a system where a male may marry more than one female at a time. Polygamy is accepted in many parts of the world and is quietly tolerated in other places. (Technically this is polygyny but that term is rarely used.) Polygamy also exists in the form of polyandry, which is when a female has multiple male spouses at one time.
Polygamy (specifically polygyny) is accepted throughout the Islamic world but is very common on in a few smaller countries (Senegal, for example).
Christianity generally forbids all polygamy, with exceptions; after the 30 Years War Martin Luther authorized priests to marry and allowed men to take multiple wives.
Monogamous.
The red fox is monogamous during the mating and birthing season and, sometimes, for life. If the female dies before the kits are raised, the male will raise them.
Not usually. One source I found claims that about half of them are monogamous in captivity, but all are polygamous in the wild.
Interesting question. I think the bottleneck here would be the female. Regardless of how many different mates one had it is still the female that has one offspring, or a litter of offspring at a time. Thinking about birds, which have both monogamous and polygamous species, or just mammals in general, one can not really see any great difference in evolutionary processes except sexually selective strategies.
A monogamous couple is two. A polygamous couple can consist of 3 or more. However in Mathematics a couple refers to two of something.
Ang monogamous ay ang pagkakaroon lamang ng isang asawa. Habang ang polygous naman ay ang pagkakaroon ng maraming asawa.
A monogamous heterosexual relationship may be healthy, but the genders or number of sexual partners is not the relevant aspect. A healthy relationship is one based upon mutual respect, trust and communication, features that can be absent from monogamous heterosexual relationships. Also, homosexual relationships can be based upon mutual respect, trust and communication, as can polygamous relationships.
Polygamy is not legal in Colombia. The country recognizes only monogamous marriages, meaning that individuals can be legally married to only one partner at a time. However, Colombia does have legal recognition for certain forms of cohabitation and domestic partnerships, but these do not equate to polygamous marriages. As a result, while people may engage in polygamous relationships socially, such arrangements are not sanctioned by law.
Polygamous what? Do you mean polygamous marriage? If so then I think you mean: How does polygamy effect homes in the education of school children?
Geckos are generally not monogamous; most species exhibit polygamous behavior, where both males and females may mate with multiple partners during the breeding season. Mating systems can vary among species, but many geckos engage in promiscuous mating to maximize reproductive success. However, some species may show more stable pair bonds or territorial behaviors.
Family structures based on number of mates include monogamous families, where there is one spouse, and polygamous families, which can be further categorized into polygyny (one husband, multiple wives) and polyandry (one wife, multiple husbands).
A relationship between a man and a woman that only has the two people.
