Don't worry I'm in the SAME spot. Here's what I do and it's working pretty well: if he doesn't know that you know that he likes you (yea it's confusing) then don't say anything.
Flirt with other guys in front of him. Don't
ignore him, but don't flirt with him either. Just be a normal acquaintance (not SO much a friend) but an acquaintance.
If he confronts you about it, just be like "well don't take it personally, I don't like many people, and your a great guy and all, but I dont like you that way. I'm sorry" then don't walk away, wait for him to recompose himself then say "hey r we cool" he probebly will be. If you want to confront him right away just say what I said above, it still works.
