Generally, most Democratic party members who are married are in traditional marriages and are supportive of traditional marriage. But Democrats realize that families come in many forms and do not limit the idea of marriage to traditional sexual boundaries.
Because certain governmental and societal benefits accrue to the historical "traditional marriage" Democrats are not people who object to other forms of marriage that are sought by large numbers of nontraditional supporters. As a result of this expanded vision Democrats are generally in support of gay marriage rights.
Democratic I think
They support it
On June 26, 2015, Hillary Clinton applauded the Supreme Court's decision in Obergefell vs Hodges. The Defense of Marriage Act of 1996 was declared unconstitutional in 2013. Over the last few years, the federal government has supported the rights of same sex couples and the states have had to follow along. In general, the Democrats believe in equal respect, responsibilities, and protections under the law for everyone.
The Green Party supports gay rights and marriage equality.
I think the African Americans were for the democratic party.......but I'm not sure.
It really depends on the religion. However, it is traditional that you wait til marriage.
the Feduralist... i think i spelled that wrong.
Thomas Jefferson and James Madison were the two most prominent leaders of the Democratic-Republican Party. It was founded in 1791.
If you mean Democratic as in, pertaining to the Democratic party, then the Democratic party has argued that gays should be able to serve in the military. If you mean democratic as in, what the population would vote for in a referrendum, then it depends entirely on the population in question. I think that such a referrendum in the USA today would be very tight between supporters and opponents.
The Wiemar Republic. Don't quote me :P They were a democratic party . . . I think
Washington was not a party member and he did not like the idea of political parties. However, his policies were closer to the Federalists and John Adams than to Jefferson's party.
The Republican Party always delivers official responses to Democratic Presidents' major speeches, and the Democratic Party always delivers official responses to Republican Presidents' major speeches.
