Actually, despite what was said in "The Waterboy", anger and aggression is not really controlled by the medulla. The medulla serves autonomous functions such as respiration. I would blame things like anger more on the limbic system.
Medulla & pons
The medulla oblongata does not directly control emotions like anger. It primarily plays a crucial role in regulating vital autonomic functions such as heart rate, blood pressure, and respiration. Anger is primarily controlled by areas of the brain such as the amygdala and prefrontal cortex.
Medulla Oblongata
It is what makes an alligator angry and helps with the emotions
Medulla oblongata, the lower part of the brainstem.
the tasks of medulla are to control involuntary activities such as;breathing, blood circulation, respiration.

The Medulla controls the body functions such as breathing, digestion, blood flow and body temperature.
Respiratory control centers are located in the brainstem, specifically in the medulla oblongata and pons. These centers regulate the rate and depth of breathing by monitoring levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and pH in the blood.
The control center of the respiratory are found in the medulla and pons. Medulla or medulla oblongata and pons are part of the brainstem.
