To explain the meaning of Bromance (possibly conjoining fo the words 'Brother' and 'Romance'), it is important that you know what it means to be Bromantic. Bromantic is a heterosexual male's feelings of platonic love for another man. When those feelings are reciprocated, the that is known as the Bromance.

This feeling of being closer than brothers between straight men is not unnatural. Anheuser-Busch (A St. Louis based American Brewing company) marketed this concept in one of their Bud Light Commercials. Among a heterosexual male bonding experience (watching football), one guys says to another, "I love you, man."

Some, but not limited, famous movie and television heterosexual friendships can be categorized as Bromance: Joey and Chandler (Friends), Oscar and Felix (The Odd Couple), Dr. House and Dr. Wilson (House), Kirk and Spock (Star Trek), Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid), and Hawkeye and Trapper John (M.A.S.H.). Also, bear in mind that Bromance has nothing to do with homosexuality (not that there's anything wrong with it).
