Citizenship is a right & a privilege. It is the opportunity to participate and make one's community & nation a better place.
This better quality of life for us all means that we...
1. respect others,
2. pay our taxes,
3. fly the American flag,
4. vote(so be aware & informed about key issues,)
5. obey the law,
6. serve on juries,
7. find some cause or organization to improve your community & build social cohension/bonds,
8. volunteer some of your time, money or effort for a worthy cause(some even chose to serve in the military to protect our people & rights & freedoms),
9. try to leave our great country better than it is now for our children & future generations,
10. realize that we belong to something special --that group of people called "Americans",
11. also realize that our rights have responsibilities, as freedom isn't free,
and like in anything what we put into it we get out of it, so participate!!!
Ateeq Tariq To me citizenship education is a component of the civic education. It means that civic education is the training of different faculties among which citizenship education is one. The citizenship education deals with the duties and rights we have as a citizen of a country but civic education is a broader term which deals with the rights and duties we have as a member of this universe.
