The triumph of good over evil is always justified, by definition. Good is better than evil and deserves to triumph. The ethical issues arise when we try to decide if war is justified, and if it serves a good purpose that is more important than the evil which will result as an unavoidable byproduct. And yes, there do exist such things as just wars. It's pretty clear that Hitler had to be defeated. But most wars are not nearly as just as the people who start them would like us to believe.
