What makes a man polygamous?

Not all men are polygamous, but some are because they were raised that way or it is a religious belief. Polygamy is the belief that a man may have more than one wife or relationship with more than one woman.

I was a polygamist for a number of years. i believe the motivations can be quite complex. It's true that mostly it's a cultural thing. But I'm a Western person raised as a Christian.

My polygamous experience began after 11 years of marriage I fell in love with another person. the usual response to such a situation in my culture is to leave the first person, and all you have built and achieved together, and start again with the next person.

'Serial monogamy' is considered acceptable, even the norm here. I felt that it was wrong.

The situation was discussed between all parties, and we decided to take this novel approach. It worked well. but, the down side, and it's a huge one, is the harassment that one can receive from 'normal' members of the community. We were 'outed' by the media, and violence was threatened against us, and our children. So Polygamy can be an answer,

to some, but their can be a price to pay.
