I had a border collie as a kid. My Dad picked the most quiet one, but not so shy it did not come to him. I imagine collies have to be quiet sometimes so not to scare any animals they are herding. They are working animals.
Animals that are quiet include fish, certain bugs (like spiders), reptiles (such as snakes), and small animals like mice. Those animals don't usually make much noise.
This is a simile comparing something to a mouse because mice are very quiet animals.
I believe Farrets are very quiet animals but then again it all depends on the personality of the animal. Its very possible to find a quiet cat and u can train a dog to be quiet.
