Why do parents lie?

well, some teenagers lie to parents because sometimes they don't want to get in trouble obviously. some don't want another lecture about this and that, that they already heard of. Some, they lie because they know that their parents won't understand them even though the parents say "Honey, it's okay, I'll understand you." Or some, they lie because they don't want you to worry and don't want to accept it. or they don't want for their parents to see them as that their always not perfect or that they want their parents to be proud of them. hope i helped you ;)

Well, It doesn't feel right to tell our parent's what were doing. That maybe wrong for us. But it's best to talk to the parents and say I'm having a problem and say i don't know how to deal with it, and i may need help! And understand what the kid is saying and get the help he (or) she may be needing at the time, before it's to late. If they don't ask for help, ask the teen what's going on in their daily life while at school and after school and still no answers from the your teen. Most teens lie to their parents because they are afraid of them. Some parents go overboard when they hear their teen child did something bad. If parents would actually take the time to listen to the child and understand in their perspective maybe teens won't lie that much.
