Not all do.

Some just feel bored or too familiar with the one they married, and it could be just them realizing, while they were meant to be together for a time being to bring each other happiness, it wasn't something that would last for their lifetime.

Some others just have a period of their passion not being as strong because of outside factors and/or because sometimes passion just wanes and isn't a continuously strong flow.

It doesn't mean either person is losing affection for the other, or anyone did anything wrong because even the strongest of loves dies down at times, but the passion can come back stronger than before since both sides miss it so much and realize how much they truly do love the other to hang around in even the "dullest" of times.

Update: Today, December 6, 2012, my partner of almost 14 years (Diane Roznik) and I (Michelle Adams) were the first same sex couple to obtain a marriage license in Kittitas County Washington. We didn't see any other couples applying when we left at about 9:30 a.m. Hopefully we will see more couples getting married in Kittitas County soon.
