The best way to do this is harder than it sounds- move on. Truly move on. If you're still showing him attention, he/she can't miss it. If your ex isn't serious about patching things up and moving forward, he/she doesn't deserve the opportunity. Drop off the planet as far as he/she goes. Don't call, don't drive by, don't email, don't text, and don't show up to places he/she goes. Don't call their friends or family. Dissappear. If they happen to show up begging and crying at your doorstep, THEN and only then consider talking. However if you're vulnerable and have been through this with them before, don't re-enter the cycle. Do yourself a favor and find someone who shares your goals and wants to show you the attention you deserve.
